Mission Statement: Fighting homelessness with dignity and grace. We oppose poverty and racism. We advocate for those who suffer from discrimination by empowering them to obtain a better quality of life.

Streets of Paradise is the definition of a grassroots organization. They’re gutsy, they’re passionate, they’re tireless, they’re unflinching. It’s easy to attract people to an organization that feeds hungry children or seniors or veterans or the physically or mentally disabled but take the roof from over their heads and the issue becomes less appealing. Homelessness is one of our communities’ largest issues and it affects children, seniors, veteran, and the mentally and physically disabled. Homelessness and hunger do not discriminate. Founder Greg Cruz and President Cathy Bryant and their small but dedicated team are on the front lines of this crisis in Sarasota. They go out on the streets every day and hand out water and popsicles and talk to the people. They believe in building purposeful relationships on and off the streets. On Sundays they are the only option for a meal for the homeless community in Sarasota. Through their Street to Home initiative, they partner with member agencies that provide housing while Streets of Paradise helps them to furnish their empty apartments and houses with gently used furniture. People are 87% more likely not to face homelessness again if they are moved into a furnished space.

Give — Your Passion: Give whatever you can. Streets of Paradise needs your money, your expertise, your time, your love, your perspective, and your questions. They’ll also take your gently used furniture—since you asked.
