Elevate Your Morning Breakfast

If when you think of oats you think of those little paper envelopes of instant oatmeal, or a flavorless bowl of mush, then you don’t really know this versatile grain! Long touted as one of the healthiest foods around, oats are a high-fiber, antioxidant-rich, blood-sugar-stabilizing powerhouse. When properly prepared, this breakfast staple offers a distinctive toasty flavor, plus a warm dose of comfort to start off your day. The recipes below offer three ways to jazz up your morning oats, from a dessert-worthy oatmeal to a crunchy-chewy grab & go oat bar to a bountiful baked oatmeal featuring the sweetest fruits of the season!

OATS 101

Rolled oats are whole oats that have been heated until soft and then pressed flat. They have a mild flavor and soft texture. Also known as “old-fashioned oats.”

Steel-cut oats are whole oats that have been thinly sliced with steel blades. They have a hearty flavor and chewier texture than rolled oats. Also known as “Irish oats.”
