Lido Lounge

There’s James Dean, of course. Black leather jackets, Ray-Bans, and just about anything ’80s will always make the cut. But ask a Floridian what constitutes cool and they’ll definitively tell you: beaches, best buds, and beers. Together, of course.

Lido Lounge, a seemingly simple seaside spot, is quickly becoming Sarasota’s best seat in town. Dale Rieke and Jenny Acheson, the easygoing twosome behind Wood Street Studio—a warehouse facility offering high-end furniture, gallery space, and photo studio—have been Lido lovers for a long time now. It only made sense that woodworker Dale and creative crackerjack Jenny would dream up a super-chill space to enjoy sunsets, grill outs, and good times.

Sugary sand and warm, turquoise waters don’t really need to be improved upon, but Dale and Jenny created something special with a beach-wood aesthetic befitting the paradisiacal surroundings. This gathering place isn’t fancy, by any means, but with their combined skill set, you can rest assured it’s well-built and charming as all get-out. A few sturdy benches, a makeshift table, a place to rest your beer, and a full-on hammock stand are all any sandy-footed, salty-haired beachgoer needs to kick back and remember why Mother Nature reigns supreme. Savor Sarasota’s endless summers. No shoes, no shirt, no problem.
