Planted in Sarasota’s vibrant Rosemary District, Victoria Blooms is more than a flower shop—it’s the creative studio of Victoria Warren, where every arrangement is bespoke and every bloom tells a story. With a style that’s equal parts artistry and intuition, she’s the go-to floral designer for weddings and those in search of something beyond the ordinary.
Her space feels less like a storefront than like the back room of a designer, a fitting reflection of the neigh-borhood’s bohemian energy. She also happens to have thoughts on Hallmark movies, strong opinions on macaron flavors, and maybe even a little advice for a first date.
Edible: Do you think florists are accurately portrayed in Hallmark movies?
Victoria: No! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good Hallmark movie but the florists just kind of float through their shops, touching the petals, and every day is stress free. It doesn’t capture the insanity of phones ringing and orders being taken and brides coming in to choose flowers and our creative design process.

You have gained a stellar reputation for making brides happy on the big day with your beautiful bouquets. What was your own wedding bouquet like?
Garden roses and tulips in blush pinks and whites and creams. And then the girls had the same flowers but in a variety of colors. It was spring and there were so many beautiful vivid blooms.
Do you subscribe to the idea that each flower signifies something specific?
Not necessarily by their traditional or assigned meanings, but I believe in asking clients about their own special flowers. What is associated with a good memory, or which flowers did a special loved one prefer? I think that we get to assign our own significance to what we love.
If Jason Momoa needed a flower crown for a scene in Aquaman, which flowers would you choose?
Off the top of my head, I would say orchids—cymbidium orchids. They’re beautiful and they last a long time, and I think I remember something about that being part of his heritage.
That’s amazing! I just Googled it, and Jason Momoa was born in Honolulu and his father is Hawaiian and a lei worn on the head (like a flower crown) is called a “haku” and they often feature cymbidium orchids. I threw that question in for fun and you nailed it! That is a perfect lead-in to my next question: What made you want to be a floral designer?
To be honest, it was the first thing that I tried that made me feel a spark, that gave me a feeling that I had found “my thing,” that made me stand out—and I was good at it.
What flower do you think smells the best?
A garden rose. But I’m only saying that today because I just smelled one.
Field of flowers or rooftop flower garden?

That’s difficult to answer. I would love to run through fields of tulips in Holland, but I don’t think that’s allowed so I’ll pick rooftop garden. I’ve lived in cities and more people should use those spaces to bring color and life to a city.
I read somewhere that you like to share macarons with your customers at the store. What is your favorite macaron flavor?
Pistachio everything!
What’s the perfect flower to bring on a first date if you don’t know what kind of flowers the person likes?
Sunflowers, because they’re friendly and unassuming and because that’s probably what I would want.
