Fall Comfort Foods
Fall season evokes memories of comfort food, smells of pies baking, casseroles cooking, and cooler days to come. What does comfort food mean to you? Does it mean heavy stews, soups, or carb loading? Is it specific nostalgic recipe? Food in general can be comforting, but the fall flavors of harvest time are especially nourishing here in South Florida as our growing season starts in October. We bring to you recipes that are comfortingly delicious to satisfy the palate. Stuffed Acorn Squash is a great side dish or vegetarian main course. Cinnamon is prevalent in fall desserts but here we slather it on a pork loin to lock in the flavor, and we use the sweetness in apple cider to make a beautiful Apple Cider & Port Wine Sage Reduction. Last but not least, the BEST pudding you will ever eat made with Butternut Squash! Your taste buds are in for a treat.
