Bourbon Peach Tea
Beth FoxThere’s something about long summer days that calls for a drink that’s equal parts refreshing and comforting. Enter Bourbon Peach Tea—a smooth, sweet sipper that brings the charm of a Southern porch swing right to your fridge. Make a batch of this summer spirit, tuck it into a Mason jar, and keep it chilled—you’ll be glad it’s on hand when unexpected guests swing by or the mood just calls for a front-porch toast.
Course Drinks
Servings 2 -4 drinks
Ingredients
- 6 cups water
- 6 tea bags (this is where you can get creative—try Earl Grey for a hint of bergamot, vanilla green tea for a smooth finish, or chamomile if you’re going caffeine-free)
- 1 cup bourbon
- 1 cup peach syrup
For the Peach Syrup:
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 3–4 ripe peaches chopped
Instructions
To make the cocktail:
- Steep your tea bags in 3 cups boiling water; remove tea bags and add 3 cups cold water. Add bourbon and peach syrup, then give it a taste. Adjust as needed—add a little more syrup if you like it sweeter or a splash of water to mellow it out. Just keep in mind: You’ll be serving it over ice and that’s going to dilute it a bit as it chills.
To make the peach syrup:
- Simmer in a saucepan, stirring to dissolve sugar, for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit for another 30 minutes to really let the beautiful peach notes develop. Strain and store extra in the fridge. This syrup isn’t just for cocktails—it’s magic when brushed over a warm pound cake, drizzled between cake layers, or spooned over a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
