Punta Gorda Farmers’ Market
Last Updated July 16, 2015
Why We Love It: Nestled along Taylor Street, across from the historic old Charlotte County Courthouse, the Punta Gorda Farmers’ Market provides a delicious introduction to the resilient city of Punta Gorda. Having weathered massive hurricanes and bounced back to become an economic boon to Charlotte County, Punta Gorda is a seaside town of more than 17,000 people that has plenty of personality and unique goods to peddle. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the winter, and 8 a.m. to noon in the summertime, the farmers’ market is hopping every Saturday. There is always live entertainment, and the vendor inventory includes everything from locally cultivated fruits and vegetables to French and Italian bakery items, fresh homemade pastas, kitchenware, cupcakes, beef and seafood, citrus, jewelry, candles, soaps, cheeses, baguettes, olives, pies, orchids, kettle corn and coffee beans. Begin the weekend with a dose of Punta Gorda charm and an armful of delectable, handcrafted goodies.
