The best gifts are the ones that come from the heart. That sentiment is more than just a common aphorism adorning decorative pillows and dishtowels, it’s actually true. When your hands and heart combine to create a thoughtful gift, it makes the gift-giving experience meaningful, just as it should be.

This holiday season I’m upping my game with homemade gifts that are not only delicious and useful, but healthy too. I created seven simple treats featuring superfoods and nutrient-dense ingredients. I upgraded hot chocolate, spiked olive oil, blended select spices, infused green tea, amped up seasoning salt, spiced up walnuts, created a rich broth, and gave chocolate bark a boost—all in the name of happy and healthy hearts.

There’s something here for everyone on your list, from the chocoholic and late-night snacker to the health nut and calorie counter.
